A Tomb of Need

I went shopping once on clouds and found
All along an unguarded agora's solo shadow
Ancient caryatids smiling in a splendid row
Eyeing my magnificent shattered gem of love
They sought to sell me regret to last forever
Plenty of not-enough, for a lifetime of together
I closed my fist over fragments of my tiny love
And ambled along for gems, gizmos and greed
Under an unborn sky, I found an unread screed
On a mangled, mauled, broken-yet-again, sweet love
Pulling ancient waves from his earth's watery womb
While she spanned a puissant axis of bygone tomb
That sun-kissed moon goes around in mad love
All at once, my closed fist held your love
And you, my tiny, shattered, magnificent greed,
Led me to the tomb of need
I bought all that I could with my trinket
And left emptied, at once full
