Eyeing my magnificent shattered gem of love
Ancient caryatids stood smiling in a splendid row
I ambled along that unguarded agora here and now
Guarding in my fist, a tiny fragment of dear love
They said those trinkets would buy me regret, forever
Simply though, not enough for a life time together
Mangled, mauled, broken over and again, sweet love
Just wondered about space for gems, gizmos and greed
Or under an unborn sky, a need for an unread screed
Sun-kissed moon went around his earth in mad love
Pulling ancient waves from her hidden watery womb
While she spinned on a puissant axis of bygone tombs
All at once, my closed fist held your love
And you, my tiny, shattered, magnificent greed,
Led me to the tomb of need
