Emptiness

And on some days something gives in that which holds me, crashes inside
in a heavy heap of huge emptiness.

Ages ago, your smile lightened that load
even fireworks, flowers, feet in the sand,
Memories etched on moment-feathers

But the heap today crushes breath, all hope
Lonesome roads, lonelier rooms, long corridors of no one knows where

I drag my load along people pools,
Seek to lose it in laughter clubs, old books,Lost music, flying kites, night lanterns

Emptiness is my daily bread, life spared
I am allowed only a morsel that is shared
When at mealtimes, you wish to be alone

I chisel your name into this mountain on my soul
And how on somedays, nothingness won't leave
Until you cleave the emptiness into two
