Time

I thought she sways on hallowed rope swings
Forward, backward she clings and flings

But when I arrived in her perfumed space
Time stood still, held me in embrace

Clouds played hide and seek with stars
And faraway shadows doned friendly avatars

Her ancient voice sang of longings past
Dark grey oceans, her eyes overcast

I was born before you and with you
She said, and knit me a new blue deja vu

I wore it last winter on my new rope swing
And wondered if she stills wears my nose-ring
